Course Overview
The Certified Penetration Tester (CPT)® certification is for security personnel whose job duties involve assessing target networks and systems to find security vulnerabilities. Certification objectives include penetration-testing methodologies, the legal issues surrounding penetration testing, and how to properly conduct a penetration test as well as best practice technical and non-technical techniques specific to conduct a penetration test.
Penetration testing is the job that most IT ‘techies’ aspire to and means you get to work with some cutting-edge technologies and technically excellent colleagues. The job can also have a large degree of diversity to it and can be technically challenging, due to the level of technical skills that must be maintained.
Exam information
- The exam comprises of 40 Multiple Choice Questions out of which the candidate needs to score 70% (28 out of 40 correct) to pass the exam.
- Open Book Exam
- The Exam can be taken anywhere and anytime, you only need an Internet Connectivity and a Browser
- An “open book exam” is a test that allows you to bring the text or material you have been studying.
- The total duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 Minutes).
- If a candidate does not pass the exam in the second (2nd) attempt, the candidate must wait for a period of at least fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of their attempt to retake the exam for the third (3rd) time or any subsequent time.
- The exam can be taken any number of times.
- The Certified Penetration Tester (CPT)® is valid for life.
